Marshall, TX (Official Press Release) --- Karen Elizabeth Abney and RBM team member Eric James Neal were married Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. at a lakeside ceremony at Fern Lake. They were accompanied by Karen's daughter Emily Barrow Hill. Judge Richard Anderson officiated the ceremony.
Karen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cary McClure (Mac) Abney of Marshall and the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Claude Johanson of Fayetteville, Ark., Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Knight Abney of Marshall and the late Jayne Allen Abney. At Baylor University, Karen was a member of Pi Beta Phi, the Baylor Water Ski Team where she competed on a national level, and the Baylor Women's Chorus. She is a graduate of Texas State Technical College with a gree in Computer systems Networking Technology. She is employed by Good Shepherd Medical Center-Marshall and currently services on the board of the Salvation Army.
Eric is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Fugler of Marshall and the late Eric James Neal of Louisville, Ky., and is the grandson of Catherine E. Neal of Karnack and the late Raymond A. Neal and Ida Mae Fugler of Marshall and the late L.A. Fugler Sr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bennie McFerrin of Shreveport, La. Eric is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a BBA in accounting. At Sam Houston State University, Eric was the president of Beta Alpha Psi, the honorary accounting fraternity and was a guest lecturer for various conferences for the Texas Association of Counties. After graduation, he worked for BDO Seidman LLP in Houston and then transferred to KPMG in Shreveport. He is currently employed at RBM LLP in Shreveport as a financial statement auditor with a focus on oil and gas accounting. He is a co-chair of membership for the Young Professionals Board in Shreveport and is a member of the Independence Bowl Foundation.
